EliSax
Saxophonist
At the young age of seven(7), José Elias (known mainly as Eli, or EliSax) picked up the saxophone and never looked back.
Born and raised in Passaic, NJ and of Puerto Rican descent. His career started off in the church, expanded thru the local school system and then a student of the real world.
José Elias’s passionate heritage and growing up in the melting pot of New Jersey and New York City permeate the multitude of styles he performs: Latin, Pop, Rock, Classical, R&B/Funk, Jazz, and Gospel. Best known as a smooth jazz, gospel saxophonist with a list of credits and accomplishments that seems endless, spans decades and has taken him to many different arenas in the music business.
José Elias is a consummate professional who has always striven to exceed the boundaries of a traditional musician’s career by proactively seeking and securing opportunities to excel in the music industry.
Currently Jose Elias is recovering from a stroke that has weakened his right side. While no one expects this to happen to them, he is grateful that he is alive and well. Recently, José Elias has been presented with the opportunity to have a modified saxophone made; a form of the instrument that only requires one hand for playing instead of two. This is an amazing step forward not just for one man’s future but for passionate musicians just like this. As he continues the impact he’s made with music.
In the words of his favorite quote.
“When I stand before GOD at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, “I used everything you gave me.” — Erma Bombeck
